I didnt understand why the cars between Lewis and Max were allowed to pass ahead of safety car... New to f1.. hence asking
Normally, under safety car conditions, any car that has been lapped will be allowed to un-lap themselves. In this particular situation however, only the few cars between Max and Lewis were allowed to un-lap themselves and the rest of the lapped cars behind Max had to stay there.

I am not a diehard F1 fan by any means. I am a sportscar racing fan until the end. But this edit is awesome and captures such a crazy moment in F1 history that will probably never be repeated. Excellent work!

in hindsite the only way lewis could won is if he boxed from first i would assume this would mean that verstappen would have stayed out so now it would have been lewis behind but with fresh tires (also assuming the backmarker situation happened the exact same way)
but it would have been ridiculous for hamilton to have pitted not only bc of track position but they had assumed the race was over and it was over if this wasn't the last race

I am MAX and RB Fans, But that day I felt for Lewis, He had the given the toughest job in F1 to do, Defend Max Verstappen with New/old tyres diff and NO DRS to help. But That Entire season Max was outperforming everything to be on that position to be in contention.
